Cost of 1 CFT Brickwork – Material Cement Sand & Bricks Quantity

In this article, we will learn to calculate the Cost of 1CFT Brickwork and the number of Bricks, Cement, sand required for a 1 CFT Brick Wall. The brick wall consists of has a mortar joint with a cement-sand ratio of 1:6.

Cost of 1 CFT Brickwork

Size of Bricks (found in Field) = 9″ x 4.5″ x 3″.

Volume of Brickwork = 1 CFT

Volume of One Brick without mortar = 0.75′ x 0.375′ x 0.25′ = 0.07 CFT.

Number of Bricks Required without Mortar = (Volume of Brick Work)/ (Volume of One Brick without Mortar)

                                                                                    = 1/ (= 0.07) = 15 Nos.

Add 0.39″ thickness mortar joint, Hence;

Size of Bricks = 9.39″ x 4.89″ x 3.39″.

Volume of one Bricks with mortar = 0.7825′ x 0.4075′ x 0.2825′ = 0.09 CFT.

Number of Bricks Required with Mortar = (Volume of Brick Work)/ (Volume of One Brick with Mortar)

                                                                          = 1/ (0.09) = 12 Nos.

Hence. Numbers of Bricks have reduced from 15 to 12 due to the presence of Mortar.

Mortar Calculation for 1CFT Brickwork

Quantity of Mortar = Volume of Brickwork – (Volume of Brick without mortar x Number of brick required with mortar)

                                                       = 1 – (0.07 x 12) = 0.16 CFT.

Therefore we need 12 Bricks and 0.16 CFT Cement Mortar for 1 CFT Brickwork.

Now we also have to find how many bags of cement and how much quantity of sand is needed for 0.16 CFT of Mortar.

Wet volume of Cement Mortar = 0.16 CFT.

Dry Volume of Mortar = 0.16 x 1.33 = 0.2128 CFT.

C: S Ratio = 1:6.

Cement Calculation

Cement in Cum = (Volume of Mortar x Ratio of Cement) / (Sum of Ratio)

                             = (0.2128 x 1) (1+6) = 0.2128 /7 = 0.0304 CFT.

Density of Cement ing KG/CFT = 40.77626 Kg/CFT.

Cement in Kilogram = 0.0304 x 40.77626 Kg/CFT. = 1.24 kg

Sand Calculation

Sand in cum = (Volume of Mortar x Ratio of sand) / (Sum of Ratio)

                = (0.2128 x 6) (1+6) = 1.2768/7 = 0.1824 CFT

In Short for 1 CFT Brickwork we need;

  • Bricks = 12  Nos.
  • Cement = 1.24 kg
  • Sand = = 0.1824 CFT

Material Cost of 1CFT Brickwork

Cost of Cement Bag = NPR 16 per kg of cement.

Cost of Sand = NPR 55 per CFT

Bricks = NPR 13 per Number of Bricks

For the Cost of 1CFT Brickwork, Cost of Material shall be.

  • Cement = 1.24 kg @ NPR 16 = 19.84
  • Sand = 0.1824 CFT @ 55 = 10.032
  • Bricks = 12 Bricks @ 13 = 156.

Total Cost Of Material for 1 CFT Brickwork = 19.84 + 10.032 + 156 = NPR 185.872.
